David Beckham has several tattoos on his body, each one of them having a particular meaning: his son’s name, Brooklyn, on the back, a crucifixion scene as well as his other son’s name, Romeo, on his upper back, the number seven in Roman characters on the right arm (Manchester United FC has a long tradition of extraordinary number 7: George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and now Cristiano Ronaldo) and last, but not least, the name of his wife Victoria in Hindi.

In his autobiography, “David Beckham: My Side”, he gives us an overview of his thoughts on tattoos:

“I like the feeling that those two boys [Brooklyn and Romeo] are with me even when I’m away from home. And not just in my heart. I had their names tattooed on my back after each one was born. There’s a guardian angel there, too, looking after them both. My dad had three tattoos of his own and so the idea has been with me since I was a kid …”

The most of his tattoos were made by the tattoo Star Louis Malloy, a well known tattooist from Manchester. With him David Beckham experienced something more than a mere profi-customer relationship, something like a genuine friendship, at least as long as Malloy began claiming copyright on Beckham’s tattoos.
